Gallienus potin tetradrachm, Alexandria, 266/267 AD.
ObverseAVT K P LIK GALLIHNOC CEB, laureate, cuirassed bust right.
Reverse: Eagle standing left, head turned right, wreath in beak; palm branch in right field
LIΔ (regnal Year 14) in left field.
Milne 4145, BMC 2227, Emmett 3804, Dattari 5283, Geissen 2932. 
Extremely Fine.

An excellent example Numerianus! Strong portrait of the emperor and a beautiful eagle (looking very imperial) on the reverse.

It seems that  the potin tetras of the regnal year  XIV were much better executed. How one can explain this?
(Apparently, as better coins they were hoarded and thus they are rather frequent in the highest grade).

What a great portrait!  It is much more realistic than the Rome and Antioch issues I have had or currently own.
