Family Owned and Operated
Hi. I'm Joe Sermarini, the owner of Forum Ancient Coins. In the photo above is my wife, Rose, and our daughters, Allison (behind), Amanda (left), and Amber (right).I retired as a Commander in the U.S. Navy Supply Corps on 1 November 2007. My last assignment was Commander, Defense Distribution Depot Cherry Point, North Carolina, which explains our current location. Forum Ancient Coins started as my hobby. As an ancient coin collector, I wanted more coins than I could afford. While still on active duty, I thought that by selling a few coins, I could make a little money to buy more coins. I soon discovered that my pleasure comes more from researching coins than from permanently owning them. Today my collection and my inventory are the same, so my collection changes continuously. Rose is an angel and a fantastic cook. We met and married in Singapore. Allison is studying classics (Greek and Latin) at the University of North Carolina Greensboro. Amanda plays the tuba in the marching band, draws and paints, and is a freshman at West Carteret High School. Amber plays the saxophone, is into fashion, and is in her last year at Morehead Middle School. Rose takes the photographs, makes the daily trip to the post office, and helps in more ways than I can list here. The kids all work for Forum to get their spending money.
