I agree with Pat, you have a very discerning eye. Faustina's moving portrait has both a noble and sad look about it. Well done!

Steve

Absolutely wonderful portrait! There is no 'life' in it at all, as you would expect from someone who is dead. But imagine how hard it must have been to put that in steel - in negative!! What an artist!
Very nice buy.

I have only one Diva Faustina sestertius, 3 grades down (i.e. 10 time cheaper)
but still I enjoy it!

This is why I have never been able to focus my collection to anything narrower than "ancient coins". There are nice, beautiful, interesting and / or rare coins in so many fields...

Faustina coins are very beautiful.  I would like to share this image of Faustina on an as. She was so kind and beloved by Roman people!

Inspired by this thread, I purchased this one:

Faustina AE sestertius, 23.27 g,  141 AD.
Obverse: DIVA FAVSTINA, draped bust right.
Reverse: AETERNITAS / S C, Aeternitas standing left  holding in right hand globe
with Phoenix  on top and and raising fold of skirt by left hand.
Glossy dark-green patina.
RIC 1105; Cohen 12, BMC 1490.

The coin is worn but the patina is exceptional.
