I purchased it as is.  I have been eyeing it for some time, but had to wait until I had some small petty cash free-up to get it.  There is no way I could clean a coin to look this nice...that is one of the reasons I gave up on uncleaneds.  Thanks for the compliment!

Thanks!  Yes, it has that nice glowing sensation to it as well.  This coin can be seen in various ways, which is why I wanted it so badly.

Thanks Jay and Mario!  I appreciate the feedback.  I was able to acquire it at a reasonable rate, but am still sad about the loss of the Caracalla I had before.  Still, it is a nice piece and I actually waited until it was in my hand prior to showing here at Forvm!!  ;)

That is one pretty coin of Severus Alexander. Nice clean strikes on both the ob and the rev with what looks to be fresh dies! Thanks for posting it.

Chris

I still find it funny that on a lot of his coinage the die makers couldnt space them well enough to get his full last name! ALEXAND instead of ALEXANDER...

It is interesting that the legend does not contain his full name, yet he is not the only one to do this.  I appreciate the positive feedback.  I really liked this portrait when I saw it!

Thanks Mike!  I do like this coin; I have been looking for awhile for one of his.  I just was unable to find the perfect coin with a reverse and a portrait that I liked.

Thanks so much for the kind works Nikos K!!  I wanted to build a gallery that would showcase my coins and be informative.

I have been taking new pics of some of my coins.  I have a half-dozen or so that are poor photos.  Unfortunately, I do not have a good camera, so even though these will be better, they still won't be of professional quality.  Here is the first:

You've accomplished both goals.  I love the info in your gallery and the photos with the busts of the emperor are fantastic
