Bosporos? Vandal? Goth?
« on: March 22, 2015, 09:35:13 am »
AE 18.5 mm; 5.85 g

Primitive looking, with some lettering beside and below the strange spikey advancing figure on reverseHelp would be much appreciated.

The reverse figure shows Apollo Propylaios (Propylaeus, Propyläus), typically shown on coins from Pisidia, which have a certain unconventional style.  A quick look in Isegrim shows no coins with a female bust left. There are coins of Tranquillina, with bust right but they look very different. This doesn't have to be an empress, it could also be Artemis or so.
