Altar with unknown offerings

Dear friends of Nikopolis!

This type has been struck under Novius Rufus for Elagabalus. It shows the emperor standing before a garlanded altar and pouring from a patera. On top of the altar there are a lot of offerings that I haven't seen on coins before. Can anyone identify some of these objects?

Any ideas welcome!

How strange, they look to me to be helmets on the left and right hand sides, with a peaked visor and the one on the right with cheek pieces too.

Nikopolis is still good for surprises. This is a detail that the great Behrendt Pick failed to recognise.
