Some days ago, this very interesting Vespasianus Sestertius arrived.

The reverse  celebrates the ("RENASCENS") rebirth of Rome, after the end of the civil-war 69 a.d.
I Think, No other reverse-type could better represent Rome than this one.  :)

Sestertius
 OV: Laureate head to right.
 Leg: IMP CAES VESPASIAN AVG PM TR P PP COS III
 RV: Roma seated r. on the seven hills of Rome, propping head on r. hand and holding Parazonium in l.; beneath, wolf and twins; to r., river Tiber.
 Leg: - S C
 Ex: ROMA
 Rome

A fairly rare sestertius which looks to be an obverse and reverse die match with the RIC plate coin!

This type seems to be known from one die only and only very rarely shows up on the market at all, so I think "fairly rare" is a bit too weak. In any case, it is a fascinating reverse type!
