would be interested in seeing all sides and bottom? and clearer picture of inscription is that 5mm thick? At first thought it looks like a 1/5 shekel inverted truncated weight (1.9g=1/5 shekel of 9.5G).

I have a similarly underweight 12 Siliqua Byzantine weight, so that would be my first guess, though my example is very worn:

I'm pretty sure we're dealing with a 12 siliquae Byzantine trade weight here. Being underweight is not uncommon during this time. See Simon Bendall: He describes the style of these pieces as homemade.

Hi  Basil,

As a matter of interest, where does Bendall discuss small weights like this one?

Thanks for that - I found it.
I thought Bendall was referring only to small weights (which he doesn't list) but evidently not.
