Hamburger sale 1932
« on: February 20, 2024, 11:58:32 am »
Hello,

I see a reference on a sale: Hamburger 29 October 1932. Lo 1061. Tremissis of Valentinian III. But i only find 25 october and the coin 1061 is not illustrated. While the sale say it the coin of the mentionned sale.

Without a picture and with the minimal description it will be difficult to prove that it is the coin from the 25. Oct sale.

But at least 1061 is a Tremissis of Valentinian III, which makes it very unlikely that there was another auction on the 29th where the number 1061 was again a Tremissis of Valentinian III.

I think this is a typo mistake, because there was not any sale from Leo Hamburger October 29 in 1932. But there was one on October 25 of the same year:

Yes i think too.

I will try to join the sale house to talk to their expert because he says the coin is the lot 1061 but how can it be the same coin. There is no photo of it. And the other lot are different coin of same type. So is it from a note in the collection?
