Trajan Alim Ital Sestertius OTD

Today I would like to share a lovely Sestertius of Trajan with the interesting Alimenta Italia reverse that I have added to the gallery. It has excellent detail and a wonderful apple green patina that these photos really cannot do justice. The Roman Alimenta program was a social welfare program that benefitted orphans and poor children living in the Italian province. Here is a short article that explains how the program worked, and it's longevity :
