Crispus rare shield type!
« on: February 19, 2017, 08:30:53 pm »
Dear all,
today I present a Crispus follis, from my collection, with an interesting shield type
The shield is decorated with she-wolf suckling the twins Remus and Romulus.

I hope you will enjoy it! Also, if you have a coin with a decorated shield, please, share it.

Best wishes,
Marcelo Leal.

Nice coin!

I hate to be the one to say it, and it may be just the photo's, but I think it presented better uncleaned.

Hi ickster,
the coin is much better after cleaning. I think the photo's are not very good showing the improvement.

When the coin was uncleaned It was hard to see any silvering.

I must say I did not though the coin was fully silvered at all. After cleaning, on the other hand, the silvering appeared in its full "splendor".

Best wishes,
Marcelo Leal.

Hi, quadrans

Nice coin, is it "she-wolf" on the shield or simply two characters?
