Hi.
Please, I need your help to identify this provincial coin.
Dims/Wgt: 20.2mm/4.86gr.
Thank you very much.

Hello,

You have an obol of Vespasian from the Alexandria mint, with canopus on the reverse.

There are six different issues: https://rpc.ashmus.ox.ac.uk/search/browse?q=alexandria+vespasian+canopus

The year is on the reverse on the right side; I can't read it from the picture, so it is impossible for me to determine which one is yours.

Perhaps you may succeed with the coin in hand.

Alberto

Hi Alberto,

Thank you for your reply.
Unfortunately, as you said, the year is not really legible, I can see an L but nothing else.
As requested, I have taken two more pictures, hopefully this will help?
Thanks again.

Kind regards,
Danny

I think the year is 1, it looks like there is an LA on the back of the coin.
Regards,
Danny

Not year 1

The obverse legend of the year 1 type is ΑΥΤ ΤΙΤ ΦΛΑΥΙ ΟΥΕΣΠΑΣΙΑΝ ΚΑΙΣ

on your coin you can read ... ΣΕΒΑ ΟΥΕΣ.. which fits with the other five.

The Δ looks similar to A, so maybe LΔ

Hello Shanxi.
Many thanks for your reply.
It is probably year 4 - LΔ = year 4 (AD 71/2)
Obverse: ΑΥΤΟΚ ΚΑΙΣ ΣΕΒΑ ΟΥΕΣΠΑΣΙΑΝΟΥ
I have seen a few more Vespasian coins struck in Alexandria and the obverse and year match.
