I second that emotion--what is a cecryphalos?  At any rate, a beautiful coin!

If Parium, then perhaps unpublished!

(Nothing in my photo file, or Lindgren, or the volumes indexed by the ISEGRIM search engine.)

Sid, thanks for the alternative spelling, I was able to find alot about these hairnets.  Here is an Attic Red Figure column krater (ca. 480 B.C. - 470 B.C) attributed to the Pig Painter from the Harvard University Art Museum collection (courtesy the Perseus Project).  It depicts two women wearing kekryphaloi.  I think the figure on makrihoria's coin is wearing one, too!

Actually, I think it is a PI.  The right downstroke of the letter pi is often written shorter than the left one.  Gamma does not have a downstroke like that.

Dear EmpressCollector,
Thanks alot for Your helps. However I should add that the this first letter has not got a downstroke here! It is exactly worn there or cut unfortunately by had been tri, ying to clean the coin. It is really a G with not  a downstroke at right!
It is very obvious in hand. The scan was not good because of being so bold of this coin. I thave tired to make better scans with scanner but no success. Everytime the smae picture comes out.

THANKS
