How to clean these (roman?) bronze coins
« on: January 25, 2024, 07:23:59 am »
Good morning,

Recently I found these 2 coins, both are of the size of a sestersius so possibly a Roman coin...

The first one is covered in green dirt but on one side I can vaguely see the letter "S T and F or E" , I can also see some kind of square above it.
the other side is pretty much blank, So far I've been soaking it in Distilled water and cleaning it with a soft brush, it doesn't seem to do much.

pictures of the coin:

The other coin I already have for a while now and looks like a slug (I see nothing in it on both sides) but sometimes even a slug can transform into something beautiful, so what would be the best approach?
