TIBERIUS RIC 30 ??
« on: March 30, 2021, 06:27:43 pm »
Please help, I have read this coin is often faked.  Max diameter is 18.1mm. The coin weighs 2.9 grams which is a concern since I believe that would be approx. .8 grams light. Sorry that it is dirty, I was afraid to clean it. It is from a friend's grandfather without any info. I am not invested in the coin, is it Wort :-[h anything? Would anybody covet it, before I lose interest.

Sorry to say, but it a modern cast fake--typical 'soapy" surfaces and lack of sharp detail.

Thank you djmacdo for the information. I assume modern fake =$0, so unless I hear from anyone that can use it for a legit purpose, I will destroy it.

Do not destroy it. Keep it in a "Black box" for future reference and study. Nothing wrong with owning or selling a reproduction as long as you represent it as such.

YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME. The responses have been great advise. Super cool to offer free help to a newbie.

IF it is 3 grams of silver market value is under $2. Not being a coin collector, I don't have a black box to keep it in lol.

Any body who wants to trade a few wheat pennies can have it. I'll send it direct to you and when you confirm it is fake send me a few cents...

I can confirm it is fake without seeing it in hand.
