Byzantine - indecipherable follis

My last un-identified coin is a hard one I think.

Looks perhaps double (or triple?) struck, perhaps even on a re-used flan.

Quite large, so I'd guess a Class A Folles' target='_blank'>Class A2 follis or earlier. The obverse looks to have a figure similar to those I've seen on some Heraclius coins, unfortunately the reverse looks nothing like Heraclius' coins (more like a Class A Folles' target='_blank'>Class A2!); hence why I'm completely perplexed with this one.

Any suggestions on this one, as always, will be very appreciated! If you want me to rotate the coin I'll do it!

regards
Dave

Heraclius perhaps over Focus--I think.

Thank you, that does seem likely; something like Heraclius SB 808 over almost any of Phocas' follis. I still see traces of what could be an anonymous Class 1B there as well.  Busy busy coin, just difficult to decipher.

I may clean it a little, see if I can get more obverse detail to come out.

David
