Corpus monumentorum religionis dei Menis By Eugene Lane
« on: January 23, 2008, 02:59:53 pm »
Would anyone have the above book that could check something for me?

I think there is a reference to Diadumenian coin from Sillyum (Paphlagonien) with the reverse showing a bust of Men right - but I would like more details.  A book not everyone would have, but hopefully someone has it in their library?

thanks in advance

MAlcolm

Gene Lane was a professor at the University of Missouri; our fellow Forvm member Zosimus is on the staff of the Museum of Art & Archaeology there.  They have the book (for sure) and he knew Gene Lane, and he is a numismatist:

Thanks very much Pat - that's very helpful.

The Internet does make contacting people embarrasingly easy - how the Victorian scholars would have been amazed.
