FINAL LATIN EMPIRE TRACHY
« on: December 17, 2009, 09:10:10 pm »
Hello to all!

This is the final Latin Empire trachy.  Can someone give me the Sear number?  The dealer ID is as follows:

The CRUSADERS Latin Rulers of Constantinople This is a beautiful example of type “A”, clipped, small module, irregular contour, inflation issue, with good iconography and details from 1204 – 1224 AD. Thessalonica mint 22-26 mm, 1.45 g. Imitation of Manuel I 1143-1180AD Billon trachy original size, 4.2- 4.5 g., 30 mm. Obv.: The Virgin enthroned facing. Rev.: Manuel standing facing, wearing crown, holding labarum and globe surmounted by Patriarchal cross. Ref.: C. Dochev, Coins and Currency in Tirnovo, p. 31, 1 and p. 211, Pl. X, 1.

I don't think I will buy any more of these from this dealer! ;)
