Hello!
I recently purchased this applique and am hoping someone can
help identify it further. It appears to be a
Roman emperor/empress but would like some confirmation.
Here is the seller's description:
"Bronze. 1ST century AD. Size 50 mm X 37mm (2" X 1 3/8").Have been told it is a depiction of a
Roman Emperor and another says it is a woodland figure of a deity and others say its
Celtic. It clearly shows a draped
bust of a male or female with curly locks of hair protruding from veil which is clearly visable on
head. The left sghoulder is bound on a knot with what appears to be adraping feathers or a
wreath."
Thanks for the
help, and sorry for the
cross posting,
Tom
