Hi ibanez,
your coin seems to be close to the "Audoleon-Type" middle Danube region/Matra hills, struck 150-100 BC, but with this small
protome before, it seems to be a unicum! I´ll have a look in the refs and maybe I´ll find your piece.
Congratulations for this great coin!!
Tia,
your coin is from the eastern
Celts, today
Romania region, and it´s not similar with the coin ibanez showed to us!
You have a
type "Zweigarm" struck arr. 200 BC and it is the predecessor of the
type "Sattelkopf" ... the
type "Zweigarm" is a development of the
obverse of
aurum stateri of
Lysimachos!
Refs for your coin: Goebl OTA 296
Dembski 1209 Coll.
Lanz Munich 589 (maybe same dies)
Castelin 1314
A very nice and
rare coin, too ... congrats!
Herfried
