Dionysopolis
« on: December 05, 2020, 05:01:40 am »
Hi everyone!
Need a help with a provenance of the coin that was published on three sites:

1. Book of Y. Tachev "Dionysopolis" p. 520, pl. 35, no. 13
2. RPC Online https://rpc.ashmus.ox.ac.uk/coin/353714 (this specimen)
3. Wildwinds (Moushmov 115) (this specimen on the photo)
Description in #3 says about 'lot 2062'. What auction is it for? Former collection?
I would appreciate your help

This is not a lot number from an auction but the stock keeping unit (SKU) from a numismatic platform (where FORVM is active as well).
Google for gordian dionysopolis 2062 and you will find it.

Other ideas:
- Get access to the book by Yanislav Tachev via some library and have a look.
- Ask Yanislav Tachev directly, you can contact him e.g. via academia.edu (if that works, I never tried that): https://yanislavtachev.academia.edu/contact
and here you find an email address: https://tachevi.blogspot.com/2014/08/yanislav-tachevs-two-volume-book-on_28.html
