Greetings Fellow FORVM Classical Numismatic
Discussion Board Members,
Welcome to THE Final Polling for the 2006
Forvm Awards For
Medieval Studies! We will be awarding a gold logo to the site that receives the most votes, silver to the second most-voted, and bronze to the site that
comes in third in votes. If any sites tie in these top three tiers, they will both/all receive the relevant logos.
We would like you to vote for three sites from the list of candidates above in order to give the silver and bronze awards as much backing as possible. However, you may vote for just one or two sites if that is what you really want to do. Please note that the board programming requires you to vote for all of your choices at the same time. If you make a mistake or you change your mind, you may click "Remove Vote" (which will erase all your votes in this particular poll) and resubmit your choices.
Our candidates were the four previous winners of the
standard Forvm Award For Medieval Studies out of 22 that displayed the award logo (or a
Classical Studies Award logo if won (see explanation below)) as of 0000 GMT 19 November 2006. Since their number is less than eight, which is the amount it takes to fill a poll of finalists, they did not require your nominations earlier in the Awards process. The
Forvm Award For Medieval Studies was just launched at the beginning of this year, hence the few candidates. Nonetheless, we wish them the best of luck in polling. Regardless of the outcome, they are all beacons of knowledge concerning
Medieval Studies on the Internet. We also reiterate the always-open invitation to you for submissions of any sites that may be worthy of our
standard award in this
field or for promoting logo-posting among our previous recipients. In future years, this section of the Awards is bound to grow tremendously and see fiercer competition for these Annual Award logos!
As for the rest of our
standard award recipients, your sites are also instrumental in helping us coin collectors place our little treasures into context. Therefore, they are appreciated all the same and not one
bit less. This is why you received the original award after our
membership reviewed them in their own individual polls. Since a site can only win the annual gold award twice, there exists a great chance that you may see your sites in future contests.
Thank You and Happy Holidays,
The Forvm
