Writing a book about barbarous - images needed :-)
« on: March 30, 2006, 12:47:44 pm »
Hi, Everybody.
For the last year I've been writing a book/catalogue about barbarous coins. It covers only billon and bronze coinage from Gallienus to Honorius - the book should be done by the end of this summer and published (hopefully) this fall.

What I need is contributions of images - I've accumulated thousands of images from ACC stock, and from a number of conributors, so the book will be full of photos one way or another, but I am always looking for new images. If you want to contribute an image (it will be fully referenced to you in the book, if the image is used) - please send it (along with the info about how the image should be referenced to you) directly to me @ alex@ancientcoins.ca

Any images will be greatly appreciated
Thank you very much in advance.

Alex.

Was it you who had the pics of those two Magnentius-era barbs? I know somone had them for a projected book, but can't remember who.

Hi there,

I am also writing a book, but mine covers a later period.  I have a few nice barbarics, including a Decentius with a great copy, but the E is retro.  and a few others.  Do you have anything in Late Roman period  Valentinian I through Anastasius and into the Ostrogoths and Vandals series?  I would like to see where we can help one another with our mutual efforts.
