Postumus Double Sestertius: Reference Needed
« on: September 30, 2013, 12:47:16 pm »
Hi Everyone,

Having troubles finding an exact type of this Postumus in any of my reference sources.

7.53 gr. 25mm

Any advice is highly appreciated.

Thanks everyone in advance for help!

Btw, is it possible somehow to prevent further coin destruction?

Maybe either RIC V, part II, Postumus 178, Double Sestertius, VIRTVS AVG:

In RIC it states that for this type "Jupiter walking right or left." Rated Scarce.

181 is also "VIRTVS AVG" but with "Emperor (Postumus), walking right or left, holding Spear and Shield, treading down enemy." Rated Common.
