This coin is identified as:
Byzantine Empire, Andronicus II Palaeologus and Michael IX, 21 May 1295 - 12 October 1320 A.D.
Bronze assarion, 1.984g, 20.4mm, 180 die axis
DOC V 671; B-D LPC p. 86, 33; Grierson 1483; Bendall 166; Sommer 80.14; SBCV 2434
ANΔPONIKOC ΔECΠOTHC O ΠA, Andronicus standing facing, cruciform sceptre in right hand, akakia in left hand/ MIXAEΛ ΔECΠOTHC O ΠA, Michael standing facing, cruciform sceptre in right hand, akakia in left hand

That is probably correct but the coin is scyphate and no legends are visible. I am less than certain. Any other possibilities? Or is it correct? Thanks for any help!

Hi Joe,
It's certainly not SBCV 2434 - my suggestion is the Andronicus II trachy SB 2348 with the Archangel half length on the obverse (see below).
