Fabric of the coin just looks off.

But there is a chance that it's just heavily cleaned so it looks like it's polished.

But like Nathan, I wouldn't touch it.

First off, I know these higher denomination Italian silvers are heavily counterfeited...so I would be extremely cautious.

Secondly, the coloring is way off.   As Mat pointed out, it looks polished.   So at best it has been heavily cleaned, but my instinct is it's not real.

Thirdly,  the beads around the rim look weird.  They are wavy, not evenly spaced,  or the same size.   9 and 12 o'click on the obverse. These are dots and on real coins they are attached to the edge.

Fourth,  his mouth is wrong.   Google other ones and you can tell.

All this things combined have one conclusion.   It is not genuine, sorry to say.

Nathan

To illustrate what Nathan L said, here is a photo of another  1901 5 lira coin from Italy
The dots around the edge really give it away . . .

22.7 g instead of 25. Out of question.
