I should have chosen another title, since in this case I cannot provide a solution, it is more a question I have myself   ???

I have bought this coin as an Alexius I billon aspron trachy, Sear 1919, DOC 26 etc.
a coin that is quite scarcely offered.
The overall description fits quite well, all the details are available, but ...

if I compare this coin with the ( very few ) coins published in DOC, Hendy, Grierson, Bibliotheque Nationale de Paris,
my feeling is exactly the same as yours.
Besides, the average weight of the coins in the standard reference books is more than 1 gr. higher.

I am quite sure it is not a modern fake and I do not think it is a Fourée either, there is no AU or AR coin
it could imitate.

So I would like to change the question to
Does anybody have a similar coin ? Any other opinions ?

Thanks

@ orthodoxcoins

thanks for the additional pictures of the "regular" Sear 1919
( I know the first one, have you bought it very recently ?  ;)

What do you think about my coin ?
