Hello again my friends. Today I have added a nice Sestertius of Hadrian with Restitutori Hispaniae reverse. I find these provincial restitution issues to be quite interesting. I felt that this one was nice enough to warrant COTD status. Thanks for looking and commenting.

What a lovely coin. The portrait of Hadrian makes him appear rather friendly, as well as capable. I wonder if he intended to come across to the citizens of the empire as a friendly type? Maybe he did, perhaps looking to be the friendly pater patriae of the empire. As the masters of official propaganda that an emperor's administrators supervising mints usually were, I would not be surprised at all.
