In general, minting in the name of long-passed rulers is an interesting numismatic topic. Sometimes it signifies rejection of current ruler or
his predecessors (like in this case), sometimes it's simply
type immobilization.
There are Baduila coins minted in Justinian's name, btw. Presumably, they were minted during the time Baduila hoped to come to terms with the emperor.
