Copper core of Alexandrian tetradrachms
« on: October 24, 2018, 05:14:31 pm »
Hello,

I am writing an article about coins in roman egypt. Regarding tetradrachms before the debasement 176/7 (and pethaps for some time after as well) I think I have seen pictures of these cut in half showing that they have a copper core covered by silver. However, I’m not able to locate such a picture at the moment. Does anyone know of such a picture? If so, it would be great if I could use that in my article.

Best regards

Andreas
