VARI, on brass coins of Augustus, struck at Achulla Byzacanae, by the proconsul of Africa, P. Quinetilius Varus, in 7 BC: P QUINCTILI VARI ACHVLLA. The name of AGRIPPA, which has been read by some on these coins in the place of ACHVLLA, has been shown to be erroneous.
