NAEVIA plebeian family, its name NAEVIVS, its surnames BALBUS, CAPELLA, SURDINUS. The silver coins, of which there are many varieties, are common. Its brass pieces are by the moneyers of Augustus. None of them are interesting; very few rare. Head of Venus with S C in the field. Rev C NAEvius BALBus. Victory in a car drawn by three horses, at full speed. The denarii of this type are all serrated.
