MEDAGLIONI. Medallions.----Everybody in the least acquainted with the Italian language knows that the augmentations end in one; thus of medaglia, medal, they have made medaglione. The French have borrowed from the Italians the word medaillon, grand medaille; and we have taken from the French our word medallion, to express a large medal.
