Julia Augusta. From an ancient inscription, edited by Mark Velserus, Julia Augusta, it appears, is the Augusta Vindelicorum, now Augsburg, in Germany. To this spledid colony of the Rhaetian province, reference is made on coins of Augustus, Nerva, and Gordianus Pius, under the name of COL IVL AVG. Julia Augusta, the wife of Serverus, is styled Julia Augusta, or Julia Domna Aug; or Julia Pia Augusta; or Julia Pia Felix Aug as upon the large brass of which and example is subjoined. See Domna.
