The twin children (Romulus and Remus) with the wolf is a frequent mark of Roman colonies, as on coins of Corinth, Alexandria Troadis, Neapolis, Damascus and others. (Spanheim, Pr. i. p. 571). See COLONIAE ROMANAE p. 232.
