Aera Caesariana, so called in honour of Julius Caesar, the conqueror of Pompey, began with the battle of Pharsalia, A. U. C. 706 (B. C. 48). The murder of Caesar took place B. C. 44, Mar. 15. in his 4th Dictatorship.
