A billon centenionalis of the emperor Constans I, hut type; RIC VIII Unlisted.  Similar to Cyzicus 77 but rosetted bust instead of pearl-diademed. Rosetted, draped, cuirassed bust left, globe in right hand.
Reverse: FEL TEMP REPA-RATIO
Helmeted soldier, spear in left hand, advancing right, head left; with his right hand he leads a small bare-headed figure from a hut beneath a tree. The spear points downwards, between the soldier's legs.

Note: This coin arrived covered in rather muddy brown paint apparently designed to make it appear to have a good patina; click here to see it. Cleaning with white spirit and brush revealed that the coin had been stripped almost completely to the metal before painting. Some greenish deposits had apparently been painted over. I have also received other coins in this state; see here and here.
