Note: This specimen was purchased as part of a bulk lot. It was unattributed. Because it is so
worn, I had difficulty attributing it. Fortunately, Andrew McCabe attributed it for me.
According to Mr. McCabe, it is a McCabe group D AE Semis. It is associated with
the Crawford 50 anchor series and the Crawford 44 anonymous series. Also, it was
struck at a Rome mint, the same mint as the Crawford 50 anchor series. However,
it was not struck at the main bronze mint in Rome. Additionally, this series typically
has flan defects. As you can see, my example was struck on a defective flan.

Note: The dealer described this example as an Extremely Rare (R3) coin. However, Andrew McCabe
pointed out to me that it may actually be a barbarous imitation. And it may not be so rare after all.
