LICINIUS II (Valerius Licinianus Licinius)

Valerius Licinianus Licinius was the son of Licinius I and Constantia, half sister of Constantine. He was born in 316.

The wars between Licinius senior and Constantine resulted in a treaty, which was signed at Serdica on 1st March 317. Constantine's sons Crispus and Flavius Claudius Constantinus (Constantine II)were proclaimed Caesars, as was Licinius junior.

War broke out agin in 324, resulting in Licinius and his co-emperor, Martinianus surrendering at Nicomedia on condition their lives were spared. They were, but not for long. In 325, Licinius senior and the 9 year old Licinius junior were both killed.
