PHILIP II (M. Julius Philippus)

PHILIP II was the son of Philip I and Marcia Otacilia Severa. At the age of seven was given the title of Caesar on the accession of his father, and in 247 was elevated to the rank of Augustus. When his father was killed in battle near Verona in 249, he was killed at Rome by Praetorians, in his mother's arms.
