The ubiquitous 'IOVI CONSERVATORI' (Jupiter, the Savior) makes its first appearance on Roman Coins with this issue by Severus in 197AD. The reverse legend would go on to appear on a majority of coins from the tetrarchy period, a century later. fordicus
