Modern intaglioThis intaglio represents Romulus Augustulus, the last western emperor. The legend is ROMVLVS MOMILVS.
I do not know where and when such an intaglio was made, but it is certainly modern. The real nam of this emperor was Romulus Augustus. Because of the inaccurate reading of one of his solidi's legend, some XVIth to XIXth c. authors believed he had been called "Momilus". Ginolerhino
