France - Capetian

louis6-denier-dreux.JPG

Coins of the Kingdom of France till the Hundred Years' war.
The Capetian dynasty ruled France from 987 to 1789. The whole dynasty contains only Hugh Capet's male-line descendants. Although the senior line ended up in 1328, it is remarkable that such a dynasty with male-line transmission lasted for 8 centuries.
