Elagabalus: Antioch, Syria: SC with Delta Epsilon

S·C with Δε. This is a continuation of the main type struck by Macrinus, in the same single denomination (as) and with roughly the same size (18-20 mm) and weight (c.4.5 gms). The standard obverse type is laureate head right. A laureate bust right or a radiate head right occur infrequently.

S·C with Δε and eagle. This type was also struck under Macrinus, but while scarce under Macrinus, it is the most common type under Elagabalus. Size is typically 18-20 mm and weight is about 4.5 gms. The most common obverse type is radiate head right with laureate head right being fairly common also. Left facing heads are scarce.

S·C with Δε and ram. This is a new type issued only under Elagabalus and Severus Alexander. These coins are scarce. Typical size is 18-20 mm and 4.5 gms. The usual obverse type is radiate head right.

S·C with KA. KA may mean "20 to 1" or a value of 1/20 denarius. Or it could be an abbreviation for the Capitolian Games. Size is about 15-17 mm and weight is about 4 gms. Usual obverse type is radiate head right.

Elagabalus: Antioch, Syria, Delta Epsilon and star

Δε and star. The obverse inscription on these coins is in Latin whereas the previous coins of Antioch in the 2nd and 3rd centuries have the obverse inscription in Greek. These coins may have been minted in Laodicea.

Elagabalus: Antioch, Syria: Tyche seated

These were struck in two denominations, one 32 mm (8 assaria) and 26 mm (4 assaria). Both have the reverse type of Tyche of Antioch seated with the river god Orontes swimming below. The larger coins have a ram leaping over Tyche while the smaller ones do not. The larger coins are very scarce.
