Vespasian RIC II 0360
Vespasian 69-79 A.D. AR Denarius. Rome mint. 72-73 A.D. (3.39 g. 19.2 m). Obv: IMP CAES VESP AVG PM COSIIII, laureate head right.  Rev: VES-TA across field, Vesta standing left with simpulum and sceptre. RIC II 360. Ex David Hendin.  

Vesta is one of the great Roman Divinities, the goddess of the hearth and of fire, and associated  with the Greek ESATIA.  A simpulum is a ladle used in religious ceremonies and a sign of the priesthood.
