ANTIOCHOS VI AE20. EF/EF+. Antioch mint. Elephant to left.
|
Obverse: Radiate head right, wreathed with ivy.
Reverse: ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΑΝΤΙΟΧΟΥ ΕΠΙΦΑΝΟΥΣ ΔΙΟΝΥΣΟΥ in four lines above and below elephant, walking left.
Superb exemplar of this interesting type, very few circullated, in EF/EF+ condition, conserving full details in both sides, very bold reliefs and a precious green patina totally natural. The coin looks much better in hand than in photo (really!)
HGC 1043. Antioch mint, circa 144-141 BC. 7,9 g - 21 mm
