House of France (Capetian)
|
The Capetian line of direct descendants and their cadet houses (Valois, Bourbon, and others) was long lived, providing the monarch of France and royalty in many, mostly European, countries. The Capetians, descendants of Robert the Strong, are known as the House of France. Their successors -over centuries- were junior houses that claimed descent from Hughes Capet.
