PAMPHYLIA. Perga. Philip Sr. (?). Æ 22. A.D. 244-249. Obv: Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust right; Countermark on shoulder. Rev: (ΠE)PΓA-IΩN. Vulcan seated right, holding hammer in left hand. Ref: BMC -. Axis: 360°. Weight: 4.70 g. CM: K in circle, in circular punch, 6 mm. Howgego 672 (8 pcs). Note: This specimen is on the small side for group 672, the specimens recorded by Howgego ranging from 23-32 mm and 6.98-21.43 grams. It is impossible to decide where the countermark was applied, although the specimens recorded by Howgego were originally minted in Phrygia, Pamphylia, Cilicia and Pisidia. Collection Automan.
