Young male head right; X (mark of value) to lower left / Blank.
Vecchi I 61-7; HN Italy 136; Vicari 30
Fake struck by modern fake dies, published by the Italian scholar Guido Devoto
These coins are listed as Type A.
Specimen 13: size 7mm; weight 0,57g
Specimen 14: size 8mm; weight 0,56g
Physical-chemical analysis:
The alloy is defined as modern gold standard 917P (22 K). Au 91,8%; Cu 4,1%; Ag 4,1%.
The coins have no significant traces of other elements, distinguishing genuine archaeological artifacts in gold.
In addition, all coins have internal structure lacking recrystallised micro-textures. The structure is homogeneous, compact and unchanged, an the internal microtexture of gold alloy presents no intergranular gaps by depletion of intermetallic precipitates, typical of authentic archaeological jewelery.
