lasta: Such coins of Constans are still offered in Vienna. At moment they are offered uncleaned and mixed in a lot of 6,000 pieces with the well known fakes of Carus and Probus for 3€/piece. All the coins have a dirty lime green patina. They were obviously devaluated so in order to sell them for a lower price than originally expected. This is a success of this excellent forum.

Constans, AE3, RIC - None630 viewsObv: DN CONSTANS PF AVG
Bust: Diademed, draped and cuirassed bust right. Rev: GLORIA ROMANORVM
Emperor advancing right dragging captive and holding labarum
Exe: SIS "A" in field right.
Ref: None. Fantasy coin

These coins were seeded into the uncleaned lost of many of the uncleaned dealers all at the same time. They are not ancient in fabric and stand often stand out amongst the other uncleaned coins. Cleaning them was often a matter of wiping with a cloth rather than long soaks etc. They were undoubtedly modern. It drove a few uncleaned dealers out of business.

This combination of Obv and Rev never existed. Example of uncleaned fakes which turned up enmasse in 2003, believed to have originated in Bulgaria. Quickly identified by the crude style, although originally thought to be Barbaric Imitations when first few appeared. Image courtesy Bob Bischoff at Petroni Coins

Joe Sermarini: The authenticity of coins sold by monneron is disputed. At least one has been authenticated by David Sear. Other coins have been condemned by other experts. At this time it cannot be said with certainty if any or all the coins are genuine or if any or all the coins are fake.
